WINERY, REGION &
A TOUCH OF PHILOSOPHY

A QUARTER TO BE PROUD OF

Where the hills gently roll from the Czech border toward the Danube, far from industrial smog and chaotic traffic, relaxed ease and unpretentious enjoyment are a way of life – welcome to Austria’s largest wine-growing region: the Weinviertel. This is where Else Zuschmann and Peter Schöfmann live and work – just twenty minutes outside the gates of Vienna.

The Weinviertel is rightly growing in popularity among those looking to unwind, enjoy the landscape, or sample the region’s welcoming cellars and kitchens. Because the people of the Weinviertel take their laid-back charm seriously.

It feels a bit like a land of milk and honey. Roasted pigeons don’t fly directly into your mouth in the Weinviertel – but they’re probably working on it.

Passion
in Martinsdorf

Since the turn of the millennium, Else and Peter have been running their 16-hectare winery in the peaceful village of Martinsdorf with dedication and creativity.

As is typical for the region, Grüner Veltliner takes center stage, making up around 60% of their total production. But the two also show just as much skill in vinifying their reds, which include not only Zweigelt but also varieties more commonly found further south – such as St. Laurent and Pinot Noir.

WHERE WINE HAPPENS

Our wines and sparkling wines have found their place in some of the most renowned establishments and on the wine lists of acclaimed restaurants. Recommended by sommeliers and appreciated by connoisseurs, they represent quality and a distinctive signature that leaves a lasting impression – and always invites another glass. For everyone who values lightness and loves the extraordinary!

Beyond the Horizon

Else and Peter are not only passionate winemakers and restaurateurs – they’ve also poured at least a glassful of heart and soul into the development of the entire region. They are committed to quality, responsible business practices, and sustainability.

Their forward-thinking approach is reflected not only in their organic certification but also in their membership in quality initiatives such as Slow Food, Genießerzimmer, and Top-Heuriger.
